What Are the Signs of Epilepsy After a Head Injury?

by Faces of Epilepsy on December 28, 2011

My 17 month old baby boy wants to climb everything and jumps around with his older sister. Many times no matter how alert I am to catch him he has fallen badly and hurt his head. I am worried that he might develop something in the future, but I don't know how to prevent him from getting hurt! Is there a way to know if he will develop something? How to prevent him from getting hurt?

You need to keep an eye on him at all times. Make sure there’s no sharp corners on tables, if so, file them down so they don’t dig into his head when he does fall over.

Remove the objects that he climbs on and other potential dangers. There’s no reason a child has to fall that often and badly other than you aren’t watching carefully enough. Personally I didn’t have knobs on my kitchen cabinets or a coffee table until my son was about 4. You gotta do, what you gotta do.
